From June 19 to 24, 2025, the AMEL team welcomed its clients to the island of Porquerolles for the 4th edition of the AMEL CUP, and the 3rd one held in the Mediterranean.
This year, 15 yachts took part: seven AMEL 60, six AMEL 50, and two AMEL 55. On the agenda: racing and moments of conviviality.
A look back at a successful edition, which helped strengthen the bonds with our clients and capture beautiful images of our yachts.
Arrival in Porquerolles
Under generous sunshine, the first AMEL crews were welcomed in Porquerolles for the launch of this new edition of the AMEL CUP MED. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants gathered at the dock in the afternoon, where the AMEL team was waiting to hand out welcome packs. These kits contained everything needed to kick off the event: personalized outfits, program, goodies, practical information, and surprises offered by our partners, whom we warmly thank for their loyal support: Marine Pool, Nautiplus, Pochon SA, and the Rallye des Îles du Soleil.
The day concluded with a welcome cocktail at the bar-restaurant L’Escale, shared between newcomers and long-time participants. The AMEL community came together with great enthusiasm, ready to enjoy four days together, including sailing sessions and moments of relaxation.
First day of racing!
The AMEL fleet set sail this morning for the first race of the event—a full circumnavigation of Porquerolles under mild weather conditions: a westerly wind of 5 to 6 knots gradually shifting southwest and easing.
The start was given around 9 a.m., in a light but steady wind, requiring focus and fine-tuning from all crews. For over five hours, AMEL yachts glided around the island. On the long downwind leg along the southern coast, the fleet split in two: one group chose to sail farther offshore to gain speed, while the other opted for a more direct route with full tailwind and sails wing-on-wing. The latter held a slight advantage at the passage of the Sarranier islets.
Passing by Cap des Mèdes and along the beach of Notre-Dame, everyone had the chance to soak in the exceptional scenery of Porquerolles under sail.
After the finish—moved slightly eastward to shorten the course—the yachts returned peacefully to their anchorage, as the sun gently set over the bay.

Second day of racing!
For this new race day, the conditions allowed two additional rounds to be launched. However, the start was postponed to late morning to take advantage of the thermal breeze created by the rising heat.
The competition took place on a banana-shaped course, sailed in an easterly breeze of 5 to 6 knots, gradually weakening. Crews demonstrated both their sailing skills and teamwork. At the end of this 4-mile round trip, named “The Loop”, the final race of the day was announced: the fleet would sail the Fourmigues course again, this time heading west.
RANKING « LA BOUCLE » *
1. ALMAVIVA (AMEL 50)
2. GRÂCE (AMEL 50)
3. EVIENCE (AMEL 50)
The fleet had a great gennaker start with a southern wind of 10 to 12 knots. After passing between the islets of Grand and Petit Ribaud, and with the wind weakening further, the race committee decided to shorten the course and set the finish line near the Fourmigues mark.
In the evening, all participants gathered at the restaurant L’Orangeraie to discover the rankings and attend the prize-giving ceremony. The top three in the overall standings, as well as the winners of each yacht category, were awarded AMEL CUP MED 2025 trophies and gifts offered by our partners.
The evening continued with a joyful dinner under a radiant sun—which, just like the sailors, seemed in no hurry to set!
Final chapter
No race on this last day, but instead a cultural interlude and a moment of relaxation.
The crews visited the Vertigo exhibition at the Villa Carmignac on the island of Porquerolles, before gathering for a closing lunch at the restaurant Le Poisson Ivre, nestled beneath the towering pine trees of the La Courtade estate.
A refined and friendly final moment, enjoyed by all.
We warmly thank all participants for their presence and enthusiasm.
